So I have been wanting to upgrade my PC for a while and i just went in to ask what they could do and they said they have to look. I have done some research and have come to a happy medium for price and how good it is. I am pretty sure I'm going to get the Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 2GB.

But i also need to upgrade my CPU which right now is an AMD A6-5400k (which comes with Radeon 7540D). My question is, will the 6970 go with an AMD A8-5600k CPU (which i believe comes with the Radeon 7560D and I don't know if this has Crossfire compatibility) or wouldn't it really work out? Looks like both the gpu and cpu would fit my needs and stay around the 300 budget. If it isn't a good fit together or you know something better that would stay around $300 please feel free to add your opinion

Here is a quick link to the 6970 that i found for $170: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CC4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.newegg.com%2FProduct%2FProduct.aspx%3FItem%3DN82E16814202035&ei=zi0ZUvCLD8rE2QWXzoCgDA&usg=AFQjCNFQsiAkThfE7KUtu9djGykDpmv1dw&sig2=jdig-5dgpPLpD9KdVTmR7A

You forgot to add a AM3+ motherboard to go with the FX-6300 CPU!

Sorry lol. I forgot that those APUs were FM2. Microcenter has some AM3+ mobo bundles with the 6300 here. http://www.microcenter.com/site/products/amd_bundles.aspx

what is an AM3+ motherboard. Like... why is it important to have it rather than the FM2 motherboard that you say i have? (i have no idea about motherboards). Do i HAVE to get it or is it like an option just in case in the future i get a crossfire goin.

and so just to be clear i just scroll down to Fx 6300 and then to the right i pick which one and click bundle? Which one would be good? just the free one would be good enough because im already at the $300 mark with just the CPU and GPU you say i should get

and i've been looking at the 7870's and they have different prices everywhere. Could you please try another link because your's doesn't seem to work. When i click it, it just brings me to the newegg.com home page. Thanks
