How do I ensure 100% GPU usage with my 7970 OC?

I have a 7970 OC with an AMD 8350. The processor shoudlnt be the issue right? And then power supply is 750w so that shouldnt be a problem? When running MSI Kombiburner it says im getting 100% gpu usage. When playing games like the wichter 2 or BF3 im peeking at 60-70% usage. Is there a fix for this?

If it is limited at 60fps then that is just because it doesn't need any more power.

If I where to turn VYSCN off would I therefor see an overall perfomrance increase?

You would get more fps, but unless you have a 120htz+ monitor you will not see it. I do it anyway to absorb some fps drops and for 200fps. :p

Yes and no. VSync limits the framerate that is being output to the refresh rate of your monitor. For most monitors, that is 60hz. You generally won't see a visual increase in performance by disabling VSync because the monitor can still only display 60 frames per second (or whatever the refresh rate of your monitor is). You may/will however get screen tearing, but will decrease mouse lag (delay between when the mouse is moved and the onscreen cursor/camera moves). The degree to which you will notice either of these can vary. Personally, I am very sensitive to screen tearing, but not very sensitive to mouse lag.

In addition, be aware that some games do not like going over 60 fps. Bethesda games are a bit notorious for exploding objects and other physics based oddities. In this case, you need to limit the framerate either using VSync (or half VSync if you have a 120hz monitor) or using an fps limiter.
