I've got a new build (see at end of post) that I've been using for a few weeks now pretty much trouble free. Yesterday I installed a Soundblaster ZX. It sounds good most of the time but roughly every 60 seconds sound distorts for a couple seconds and the whole system (whatever's on screen plus the audio) slows and the sound distorts. I've only got two games- they both play well and sound good but with the same hiccup. Music played thru WMP same deal. All other computer processes work beautifully.
I've installed and reinstalled the latest drivers for the soundcard and GPU (there was an HD Audio update). I've tried disabling HD Audio and I've got the SB ZX set as the default sound device. I've tried using a different set of speakers and get the same behavior.
I don't know what else to try and would be grateful for some help.
Thanks!
