Solved

First time building a computer, how are these parts?

Well heres the part list

Ill mostly be using this computer for gaming and a bit of video rendering, mostly games like Skyrim and other RPG and first-person games, and sport games. Im not looking for the highest FPS but just running comfortably on high settings

Ill be buying it in a few weeks to a month from now

I wont buy a monitor but i will get Windows 8

I will be buying all my parts from a Canada Computers store, thus the list

I am planning to overclock and get an aftermarket cpu cooler

My budget is around $800 Canadian

Id like it to stay cool, and quiet if possible but I will be using headphones quite a bit so its not too much of an issue

Any replies are appreciated

Do you think i should use any different parts that would run better? Specifically the motherboard as I dont really know what to look for in them
  3. That motherboard is decent. I would go for an ASUS or Gigabyte. One of these: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-m5a97ler20 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970ads3

The motherboard does not affect performance.
  4. Nice list, all good parts and it will work.

Only thing I would change is the Motherboard to an Asus board and the Graphics card to a 760 from Asus or Evga.

    What motherboard in particular?

Well either the Asus 970 board if you want the same chipset/price range. Or an Asus 990fx pro or 990fx sabertooth, if you think you will need more features or for more than one graphics card or for overclocking.
