I don't use either..... so can't speak to issue either way...I use
Seagate Momentus XT - fantastic performance, hair slower than SSD + HD
Seagate 7200.14 - Great throughput large drive
WD Black - Great solid drive, 5 year warranty

the WD Av-gp series is not designed for use in a desktop.
You'll want the blue or the black for desktop use. Blues have 2 yr warranties. Blacks have 5.

Really, 7200RPM HDD's are almost a commodity now. Their would be no real difference between them. Go for whichever is cheapest, you have some brand loyalty too or whichever has the best name in your opinion. Chances are they both rolled out of the same factory anyway.
I buy Seagate because down here in Aus they are far cheaper than the equivalent WD.
