Hi everyone!

I have been planning on getting new parts for my PC, and I need your help! Here are my current specs:

CPU: Intel i5 3570k @ 3.8 gHZ
GPU: EVGA GTX 570
MOBO: AsRock H77 Pro4-M
MEMORY: G.Skill 8 GB Ripjaws @ 1333 mHZ 9-9-9-24
PSU: OCZ ModXStream 600 Watt
CPU COOLER: Stock

As you can see, some parts are outdated and need replacing, (don't mind the unlocked CPU and locked Mobo) these are the parts I am planning to get.

CPU: Same
GPU: EVGA GTX 770 ACX
MOBO: MSI Z77A GD65
MEMORY: Upgrade to 16 GB of Ripjaws
PSU: This is what I need help with!
CPU COOLER: Corsair H80/H80i Cooler (Whichever is better)

Ok, so there is the parts, let me know what is good and what is not. Now for the PSU, since I'm getting a unlocked Z77 Mobo I will be OC'ing to somewhere in the 4.2-4.7 gHZ region and need to know what PSU I should get. I might be SLI'ing in the future so I need a consistent and reliable PSU.

Thanks for the help guys!

PSU: This is what I need help with!

Look at GFX card manufacturer's web site for PSU requirements
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-770/specifications

Thermal and Power Specs: 650 watts for one card, 850 for 2
98 C - Maximum GPU Temperature (in C)
230 W - Graphics Card Power (W)
600 W - Minimum Recommended System Power (W)
One 8-pin and one 6-pin - Supplementary Power Connectors

CPU COOLER: Corsair H80/H80i Cooler (Whichever is better)

Both are very noisy (38 dBA) and can't match performance of better air coolers, like the Phanteks PH-TC_14 (19 dBA). That;s not twice as loud..... each 3dBA is twice as loud .... 38 - 19 = 19dBA ...... 19/3 = 6.333 or 2^6.33 power or 81 times as loud.

If...

the 770 uses about the same power as the 570 your replacing it with. a good 500- 550 watt PSU is fine.

you have a budget for just that?

a nice antec, sesonic, xfx, rosewell capstone, . . . .

oops sorry you said about SLI in the future . .650 watts from the aforementioned manufactures/vendors.

Umm, I have a 600 Watt PSU right now, why would I drop to 520 Watt. Definitely not enough for a 770 with OC'ed CPU. Right?

770 uses 250 watts max. its much more efficient than the 570

sorry for the edit, was thinking of the 760.

you can run a titan on 500W

if you might go sli i would recomend this

850 watts is enough for a single 770 and another one in the future alongside a 4.5 ghz OC?

If you must have WC kit, grab the Coolermaster Eisberg Prestige 240L (20.5 dba)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103184

Every PSU manufacturer makes PSU's of varying quality .... it's not the brand, it's the line .... and that always can not be depended upon..... Certain OEM's (i.e. Seasonic) are oft credited for things they don't actually make.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-oem-manufacturer,2913-5.html

Corsair's top end AX line is made by Flextronics .... their other high quality line (HX series 750 thru 1050) is made by Channelwell ... while their lower power HX ones (450 - 650) are made by Seasonic. Corsair's budget lines, the CX and VX series, are also made by Seasonic

Antec Neo Power and Earthwatts were made by Seasonic and they were rather average PSUs whereas their hi end Signature and CP lines were made by Delta

750 watt is MORE than enough. 150 for the cpu/motherboard/ram and 360 for both gpus is 510 watts.

Alright so here is the deal, I don't really feel comfortable buying online, so I want to stick to my local computer store. They don't carry any SeaSonic power supplies so what would be the next best thing. As for the CPU cooler, I really want a liquid cooling kit but my case isn't really large enough to throw in a double 120mm radiator. (case is the Zalman Z11 HF1) Any thoughts on the motherboard, is it good? Thanks for the fast replies guys!

most are nice and others do better at being a PSU shaped paperweight. i'd suggest looking at their prices, finding what is in your budget, picking a few and then take a look at:
PSU REVIEW DATABASE

its a great resource to see who actually makes the unit/model the full specs and links to any reputable review site like johnny guru or hardware secrets.

If you look at the review I linked, Cooler Master's new V series is of the best quality. They are starting a move into the top ranks in power supplies. These are far better than their old supplies. It has been reviewed by many and always gets top rating for the quality of parts and excellent performance.
