Hi,

I am getting a build together mainly for running Matlab simulations and gaming.

The following is what I currently have:

I am getting discounts on several components from intel. I am getting the I7-4770k for $170. I can also get 240 ggb 525 ssd for $220 but it seems that it is not compatible with the motherboard I selected. Another option would be either Samsung 128 gb 830 or 840.

I have no idea what type of cooler and power supply I should get.

I also plan to get a Monoprice 30'' monitor.

Thanks in advance for you help.

I love Asus ROG Boards for the OC features but I think the MSI GD-65 is the better board .... of course if ya got another $80, the Asus Maximus VI Formula is **THE** Z87 board to have

And this time around, MSI has the faster vid card

Id upgrade from the Fractal to the Corsair 500R for $10 and take the combo with the 10.0 jonnyguru performance rated HX850 PSU

Cooler Options:

Stay away for the extremely loud (38 dBA) Corsair things and get a Cooler Master...

For air cooling, it doesn't get any better than the Phanteks (color selectable)

Thank you very much for your help. Some of your suggestions seem to be geared towards overclocking. As of now, I do not plan to do a lot of that. Would you be able to provide some suggestions for a good quality psu, cooler and power source that would be somewhat cheaper then the ones suggested.

Thanks.
