Folks,

I've read almost everything I could find about this problem and have very few ideas with how to resolve. I bought a new ASUS CM1735-US006S in July. We moved to Taiwan a week later and recently had a chance to set it up. Before we left Indiana I purchased a Radeon XFX 5850 Black Edition from a guy b/c I wanted better graphics capability (not much gaming, but heavy video user on 2 monitors).

I installed more RAM which worked fine and the Internet was working great yesterday via VGA to one monitor. Then I installed the Radeon card and it works well - both monitors work and the display adapter shows the ATI card has replaced the integrated video on the AMD chip automatically in the device manager. I got a new Corsair PSU to run the card.

The internet has stopped working. I realize I need new drivers for Windows 8, but the fact that I don't have any LAN settings in the device manager is a problem. The only thing listed under "Network" is If anyone has ideas, your help would be much appreciated. (If I could get on the internet I'd download new drivers) Far from being a computer wizard, I know enough to get by...

ASUS CM1735-US006S desktop
AOC 2343FK 23" LED x 2
Radeon XFX 5850 Black Edition (circa 2010)
12GB Kingston HyperX Blu RAM
Roswill Cherry Blue MX keyboard
Corsair CX500w PSU

Thanks everyone!

Yep. Download it to the flash drive, transfer it to the PC and run it. Then confess to your wife with flowers and chocolates.

With no net, how do I download a driver? And under Network Adapter it just says: "Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter"

Well, the computer is 6 weeks old. But as 4745454 mentioned I need to download the driver. Do I download it on this laptop I'm currently using then put it to a flash drive and have it run on my ASUS? Bottom line: my wife would kill me if she knew I'd screwed up this computer.

Yes. I use to burn them to a CD, but any removable drive will work. Go to probably Asus's website and look for a network driver there for your computer model number. Don't run that download on the laptop. Just move it over to the Asus and run it there.
