Hello Community,

I am here to give back to the community with an Antec 1100 install mod for the Corsair H100i :) So, this last few days I have been extremely frustrated because I have been looking for an instructional post/guide on how to install the Corsair H100i into this specific case. If you have an Antec 1100 then you know that this case is not fitted to accept a 240mm radiator :( But! I found a few options that you could do to actually make it work out :)

Option #1 - Top Mount

Pro's first
-The radiator will be in a much closer position to the CPU.
-Wires will not be stretched as far compared to Option #2 and can be hidden more easily for better aesthetics (Always Nice).
-The radiator will be right next to case exhaust/intake port (Always Desired for better cooling).
-Much more easy to access and make adjustments.

Con's
-You MUST remove the ONLY 240mm fan in the case :(
-Involves Drilling
-Involves using the hex holes on the exhaust/intake port as holes for bolts and washers.
-Aesthetics do not look good from outside of tower looking at the top of the tower because the radiator does not completely take up then entire port space.
-Bolt and washers look tacky.
-IN THEORY, you lose the air flow pattern constant because the radiator has gaps on each side; allowing unknown directional air flow.

Option #2 - HDD Bay Mount

Pro's first
-You get to keep your 240mm fan that has the most exhaust pull :)
-Aesthetics blow Option #1 out of the water!
-Better Air Flow in my opinion; (if you install them, which is recommended) the 2 fans at the front of the case intake fresh air and push it to the radiator fans behind the HDD Bay. (if you are using A LOT of HHD's, then this option may not be for you)
-Much more easy to install (No drilling required, but you can definitely drill and tap the holes for a perfect mount.)
Con's
-There are no tapped holes for radiator mounting. (I really think Antec got lazy on this; instead they used lock-in fan tabs. Maybe they wanted to implement an easy fan mounting system; but they took the only possible place in the tower which could be a viable 240mm radiator mounting spot. WHY????
-Not a very easy spot to make quick adjustments.
-Wires are stretched more across the board and is much more difficult to hide them.
-Use of ZIP TIES EWWW!!! LOL (I will be investing in a tap set to drill holes for a proper mount; then update this guide with proper instruction for this).

I decided to go with Options #2 HDD Bay mount. I thought it offered better overall airflow, benefiting the temperature of the case; respective to the actual reason we are installing a liquid cooler system.

Step 1 - You must Make Room for the radiator Near the HDD Bay; you can accomplish this by NOT having a lot of bunched up cables running through the 2 lower Back panel access ports.

*You can also see those Fan lock-in tabs in this photo.

Step 2 -Put together Radiator and fans and place into the fan slots.

*sorry about Blurry pic. More views of FAIL fan clips.

Step 3 - (I actually do have pics of this step, I will get on that ASAP) Anchor down the fans to the HDD Bay by threading the Zip Tie through the HDD Bay slots and the fan screws. (Do not worry, the Radiator does not move at all if done well; there is no vibration or noise either).

Step 4 - Run wires to make sure they do not touch hot surfaces or hardware.(It is wise to get wire protection sleeves if you suspect this may happen)

Step 5 - Make sure your H100i pump-to-radiator transfer tubes do not touch your Graphics Card because that would be very bad lol, I don't think you want water splashing everywhere in your case :)

Step 5 - Enjoy :) Have fun Benchmarking and Overclocking if that is your deal :)

*Ohhh by the way, that is a MSI GTX 760 TF/OC, and card length is 10.5", so if you have a similar sized graphic card then it will fit np; you can actually see there is more room too :)

Air flow in my current set up is good, lots of spots for fans ( there are 9 fans, only 2 provided) I really like the new fan spot on the back of the motherboard which is where the CPU is located on the opposite side, helps mitigate temps :) This case really does rely on added more fans though, but you will not regret it. With all the fan locations and overall 9 fans, there are SOOO many variations you can derive.

This is why Antec kind of fails. Their cases (for the most part) have old standards and don't support a lot of the newer items people want. They have a new case coming that will but honestly this is why you go with a more modern case.

My 500R has built in support for the H100I. Of course I prefer 140MM fans since they are quieter and provide the same air flow but there is no H110i yet so I will stick with air cooling till then. Plus I could go crazy and fill the fans spots and have like 12 total. That's overkill though.

But having to do all this work for a H100i is meh.

Still good job on getting it to work out.

Thanks, yeah it was more of an accomplishment than anything :) I could have just installed and h80i and been done in 20 mins but meh, I like challenges. Also, the h100i was 15% off on newegg, so why not lol. I love the h100i and i don't care what people say about how it does not keep up with other cooling systems or Open loops; my system idles at 23 C and 54-55 on prime95 torture test on small FFt's. I think it was worth the effort :)

If you are going to OC and Liquid Cool it and want a large radiator, do not get this case :) But, if not then this case is a terrific case and some of the features it has are very nice. Any ways, I have both front fans blowing intake, my radiator fans are pushing into my radiator ( which are the HHD Bay fans), I DEFINITELY suggest the newer back of Motherboard fan, and I currently have 2 fans in the window but i have them turned off atm because they are very loud LOL. I put the original corsair fans that come on the h100i in the window so yeah they are beasts LOL

I just thought of an idea for the fan that blows on the back off the motherboard, I will turn it into an exhaust fan. Instead of blowing hot air all over the back of the case, I could just exhaust the heat coming off the back of the motherboard. Definitely worth a try. There are sooo many fan configurations due to the locations of the fans on this case, its very frustrating sometimes LOL.....I think ill be trying that soon!

Is that cooler good? I heard that it ran out of liquid somehow after about a year. Had some guy tell me his cousin in Brazil had one and within a few months it was empty and the processor almost melted. Not sure if it was a leak or something else, but just keep an eye on it. Also I wish I had your internet, australian internet is a joke, horrible, we have an NBN plan, but the liberal party wants to stop it which is obviously retarded, our internet should be as fast as yours, not some 3rd world country speed.
