Recently, my PSU (as far as i know) has started to behave in an unusal way. Some days ago my PSU was fine. It was able to handle the CPU easily even after Overclocking. But now, my computer wont start with the press of the power button but it will start automatically at any RANDOM time of the day and it then run fines for hours and hours even under heavy load. Even conducting the two motherboard pins of power button with a screwdriver doesn't start the PC. I have tested the PSU with another motherboard which starts with the press of the power button but restarts after a few seconds. Thanks in advance for help.
My specs:
Intel Pentium Dual Core E5700
ASUS P5-G41 TM lx-3
An I BALL PSU enough to sustain my overclocked E5700 with 100% CPU usage and Overclocked HD 5450.

Solution
Yes, definitely if you are very unlucky. With the advancements of technology today, the cheap PSUs will work just fine but the components used are not top notch. So it would just die the next day. Some signs are whining sounds from the PSU, sudden restarts, etc.. Also, if a power surge happens frequently, it can contribute to the wear and tear of the PSU

Thank you all for helping me, that too so quickly.
My PSU is Iball LPE223-400.
I also think that the cause is the 99.99% dead PSU that can only turn on the mobo light.
but as a I am a school student (LOL) my parents wont allow a PSU change unless i give a assurity that i have a bad psu.
will try to borrow a psu from some friend and test it.
If the PSU is the problem will replace it the next day.
and thanks for suggestings PSUs, will definately consider them :)
just a question out of my curosity----can a PSU die immediately...i.e. work for one day and die the next day?? and if yes why?? (will try to avoid that with my new PSU....
thanks once again for your opinions :)
