Hi, I built a new pc by taking back some old harddisk, gpu and PSU. My system config is msi990fxa-gd65, AMD FX 6300, corsair vengeance 8gb, GeForce GTX 550 ti, COOLERMASTER GTX 450 . My harddisk is 4 yr old Seagate baracuda 7200 rpm 250 gb. When I am using the system for coping from and to the drives it takes same time as for my old system . As per Windows rating every component rates 7,4 except my harddisk 5.4 .Does my harddisk is holding me back.If yes should I go for new one along with the old harddisk.

First off the Windows E Index area pretty useless measure of hardware capability (for ages it rated all SSD below HDDS). Second what are you using the comp for . IF you are tranfering alot of data quite frequently a upgrade might be recommended. But if its the stuff like games (unless load times are annoying you) you hard drive has plenty of speed to load textures and is probably faster than those in the Ps4/xbone.

Yeah, grab a new drive. That old one must be pretty slow to not be getting a 5.9 on EI.

Seagate has a 1tb drive thats using the new 1TB platter density (It doesnt sound like you need alot of room) and BestBuy has it on sale for $70 something.

Same platter but in SSHD trim

WD also has 1tb platters but has not put it in the Blacks yet. Its currently available in the Blues. WD does not make a hybrid drive that I am aware of.
