Hi, In my acer aspire 5920 1gb ddr2 333mhz ram is pre installed, I need to install another 2gb ddr2 667mhz ram in slot 2 whether these two will work together or will create some problems.

In the label it is shown as " 1GB 2R*16 PC2-5300S-555-12" HYNIX RAM

CPU-Z Application is shown DRAM Frequency as 333.4Mhz

Please advise

It will create problems. When you add memory, you should always use the same size, latency, timings, heck even brand. haha But seriously, it should be identical bro. It MAY run if it doesn't have the same latency because it will be downclocked to the slowest speed of memory installed. But for the size, I don't think so.

Ddr2 333mghz. Ram is virtually impossible to find Fryes doesn't have it and substitutes don't fit slot ( notch is different) best solution : buy a new PC with 1633 MHz memory and throw the junker away

Hi,

333Mhz DDR2 is DDR2-667. On an Intel/AMD PC this is also expressable as PC2-5300. They are 3 different ways of stating the same thing.

CPU-Z reports the DRAM IO bus frequency, yet most companies market it according to the transfer rate, which is twice the IO bus frequency (that's where Double Data Rate is derived from).

In all likelihood they will work together just fine, but mixing and matching memory never has guaranteed results.
