I have a Asus P5N-D and it will boot ok and work with 4gb. When the full 8gb is in the Monitor will not even come on I have verified the memory. It is good all 4 sticks its the 2 slots that are giving me a issue. It there something I am missing.

Could be a few things. You specifically mention verifying all dimms are working so ill skip suggesting testing those.

Pull the ram up in google with its serials/model/ect and see if it its Single, Dual, or Quad ranked.

Your system without going into detail has 8 ranks to work with generally. So if you have 4 dual ranks you're fine. If you have 4 quad ranks well that's 12 which is over budget.

You mention its a 4x2 setup. Most 2g sticks are dual rank except some very cheap ones. So might also just be the slots are bad. Have you tried the second two slots alone to verify they work?

Last thing is the memory, some vendors and even some lines within the same vendor do not like working together and there isn't much you can do about it. Same goes for the motherboard, however sometimes there are bios updates that will expand compatibility so you may wish to try updating your bios as well.

@NukaB

Windows has nothing to do with this, the system isn't even posting.

It will not boot on A2 and B2..It will boot on B1 and A1 bud just shows 2gb out of 4gb...It will boot with both sticks in the "B" slots and the one in A1..This really seems like the 2 A slots are defective.Any other ideas...Whats a good replacement Motherboard do you think?
