windows 7 versus windows 8 starting from current windows xp

should i just stay with xp for e mail and internet information as primary computer use ? I was told by STOPZILLA to avoid windows 8 unless by now bugs are worked out. PLease advise. THANKS.

XP goes end of life April 2014 .. so with no patches.. you will need move to a new OS before then.

Win8 is not so much "buggy".. but it is very different to what you are used to and the discussion rages on if it is better than Win 7.
Really up to personal preference .. but if you don't like new ways of doing things.. stay with Win7..if your machine has touch interface or you enjoy learning new ways to work your computer.. go with Win8.

Thanks for the input. I am 68 and not looking for changes that require alot of adapting. Windows 7 sounds like the better choice. Since XP support is out April 2014 I guess I have no choice but to update at some point. Is that correct ? Thanks
