Can a Trojan virus or spyware (3 of them) cause my STE31000528AS to fail? I did manage to remove the virus plus one of the spyware. However, 2 spyware still remain. Does this mean I just need to replace it?
I just don't know where to go from here.

Solution
Why do you think it is failing? Does it make a ticking or grinding sound?

Whenever I get a virus that I just can't get rid of, I just reformat my hard drive and start new. If it seems drastic, it is, but you get the double benefit of having a fresh install of windows (or other OS) and being rid of your virus for sure.
