Noise from pc then monitor loses connection from computer and cant turn computer off via the front button.
Have to turn the pc off via the switch at the back, Have just had to replace 500gb storage drive due to failure replaced it and just got back to normal and now problems with heat and cpu temp have replaced fan for a more powerful one but still having a problem the monitor will suddenly show as not receiving a signal from the pc and the pc sounds like it does when its on but cannot see anything but also cannot turn off the pc using the buttons at the front.
Turn it off using the switch on the power supply then cannot start it when I switch it back on have to leave it for 20 mins before it will start up and show on the monitor. Would this be caused by the power supply a rail that may have gone down in it. I have a spare new power supply should I try that so helpful advice would be appreciated.
AMD Athlon 3400 64 bit running Windows XP Pro 32bit with 3 gig ram
