I have an alienware m17x R3 i have 4gb of memore currently in my laptop. i recently got a new SSD and made that my boot drive. I also made sure I have a 64-bit OS so i know i can have more then 4gb when i first installed the OS on my new SSD I didnt realize if there was low memory or not i dont think so because i think i would have noticed it but maybe not. but i looked at my windows experience index and it use to be 7.5 and now its 5.5 because of my RAM not sure if one sticks bad or not havent really done alot wanted to get other peoples input but i did use this program to defrag my memory and that how i got up to 2.45gb available it was worse before. thanks i appreciate any input you guys will have.

Solution
Go into bios and change the igpu memory. You can't defrag memory, what software was this? And don't defrag the ssd, it's just a waste. You can run memtest to test your ram.

Defrag memory? Where is it listed that you have 2.45GB of memory? Task manager? If so, then that is fine. As Bruce said, Windows is using it. I always have a minimum of 2.5GB in use.

I would not worry about the windows score thing, but here is how it works and also why it can get lower over time: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-nz/windows/what-is-windows-experience-index#What-is-windows-experience-index=windows-7

TL;DR ?

"The standards for each level of the index generally stay the same. However, in some cases, new tests might be developed that can result in lower scores."
