This PC has two SATA 500 hard drives. It has Win XP and Win 7 installed
(dual boot) Win 7 boots and runs perfactly from partition H: on the second drive.
Win XP will not boot. Here is the content of the current boot.ini file.
[boot loader]
timeout=10 default=disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP" /FASTDETECT /NOEXECUTE=OPTION
I have tried many different variations without success.
Win XP is installed on the first disk in partition E: (there are three partitions C: D: and E:
on the disk)
What makes the puzzle more entertaining is that from the mobo, the primary and secondary
disks are connected in order secondary - primary. I don’t know why - the tech guy did it.
What is the correct content of boot.ini ?
