i've looked everywhere for this, coming up with either things that aren't the same conditions as what i'm having, or go unanswered.
I just got a new WD black drive to hold all my games and bulk programs on, and when it is idling, i hear a faint single click every 2 seconds. I've ran some test, including r/w test as well as looking for bad secters, all coming up with nothing.
The HDD led also flashes once every time the click occurs. Would this be normal or possibly an early sign of failure?
