Specs are as follows.

Asus P8Z77-V LK
Core i3 2100
Nvidia GTX 260
750 watt Corsair PSU
8 GB Crucial Ballistix
W7 64bit
2x Samsung 840 SSD in raid 0.

I picked up this mobo/ram today as a little refresh to my system. I got everything physically installed. As I was initially setting up my video went blank so I swapped the DVI from my video card to the onboard video. Setup windows etc etc. However, in the BIOS if I switch to PCIe video and reboot, the screen stays black and the BIOS swaps back over to onboard.

When I look at the PCI devices in the bios I see a couple of things that make me scratch my head.

Whichever slot the video card is plugged into reads x0, and unless I'm mistaken I'm assuming 3 PCIe slots should show up in the BIOS but only 1 and 2 are there. I could be wrong, because I've never seen this BIOS before. It should be noted that the card obviously doesn't show up in device manager either and ASUS' quick little PCI test says it passed for all that means.

So here's what I've tried to get my video card to work:

Cleared CMOS
Booted w/o video card, then reinstalled the card
Updated BIOS to most recent (from 980 to 1103) I think those are the versions
Tried 2 out of the 3 PCIe slots, my old card is too big to fit into the bottom slot
Tried a HD5450 card to make sure it wasn't a power issue (same results)
Tried different 6 pin connectors to the GTX 260
Googled a lot.....

I'm stuck and I have no idea why this thing won't work.

Thanks.
