Hello:
Whenever I try to put a third SATA device onto my motherboard and boot up I get a beeping warning. It beeps 4 times (I think, maybe 3) and does it 15+ times. The board has 6 SATA ports. The first time I tried it was a 1TB WD HDD going into the SATA 3 port on the mobo when a SSD was in the first port and a disk drive in the second. Next I disconnected the disk drive to use the HDD with and it worked fine. When I connected the disk drive into port 3 (with a new SATA cable) it beeped and I tried plugging it into port 6 and it still beeped. Any ideas?

Check that you have the latest BIOS and drivers, may just be another MSI mobo that slipped through that's bad, their QC is among the worst I've seen in mobo makers, just one of the reasons they keep slipping backwards sales wise. Their support isn't any better.

I updated the BIOS and that appears to have fixed the problem - thank you.
