I have recently formatted my windows 7 home edition acer aspire 5742. Now to process I made was I pressed F2 at the start up screen when the word Acer pops up. I enabled D2D recovery, exit save changes and the pc started formatting with the recovery disc inside. After the whole process finished it seemed all ok. I downloaded some programs from ninite.com. Then after I scanned it for viruses with ARO 2013 and then even with AVG free, I tried to run Firefox and the pointer of the mouse turned up loading and the laptop jammed/ freezed. I couldn't even shut down properly I pulled out the battery. Any help pls

Okay once you 'recovered' back to 'factory' you need to let Windows install all 200 Patches since then (I am serious I just had to do the same thing on a rebuilt computer). This can take a day or two to do all the patches BEFORE you do anything else. It sounds like you tried to jam things in before Windows was done patching and interrupted the whole process. I would start over personally, and just move on from there.
