Hi,

I have a Huawei E1552 usb modem which is locked to a specific network provider which on my case is GLOBE Philippines, I just have a thought if I can convert my usb modem to a USB WIFI ADAPTER. I have an internet connected to my desktop pc via cable and I would like to share this internet via wifi from my desktop by using my USB modem (converted to usb wifi adapter). I know there's such thing as router and Wifi Card but I would just like to know if this is possible?

Thanks!

If we ignore the USB broadband modems which as pointed out are totally different than WIFI. Now if your goal is to share the internet that the desktop is using via ethernet to other PC that you can do with cheap USB WIFI cards. You would plug the WIFI device into the desktop and use Microsoft connection sharing (ICS) to share it. Microsoft site has very good instructions. Another device that has normal WIFI could then use the desktop to access the internet. It would be MUCH simpler to put a wireless router between the desktop machine and the internet to do this function.
