HDD - very urgent ... please help

I have given online order for Seagate sv35 ST2000VX000 HDD. I haven't received it yet. so all I want to know that is it good hard drive for desktop. I have to store HD videos & movies,mp3 songs and documents and softwares in this drive. It is very cheaper than other available hdd and I also feel it good quality wise. But I'm in doubt. now I own WD 1tb green disk and it is very slow and it had failed two times in 2.5 years. so I wanting to buy seagate now. please suggest me is vx000 good or not,if not which other 2tb hdd is best?

That hdd will be just fine. It's fairly fast as far as mechanical hard disk drives go. Its a 7200 rpm drive with 64mb of cache.

The WD green drives aren't really meant for operating systems they are...

The WD green drives aren't really meant for operating systems they are more for storage and surveillance equipment.

If you really want to give your system a boost later down the line, get an ssd for your boot drive. A 64 gig one will run you less than $100.00
