Hi Guys! I'm planning on buying Geforce GTX 770 or 780 and mounting a watercooler on it (corsair h50) i bought a mounting bracket to mount it. And i will be putting watercooling on my processor so that the overall temp of the case is cooler, my case is corsair 600t. And is socket 2011 more future proof than socket 1155? i'm confused if i should buy the 3930k i7 processor, what i have now is i7 3770(non k).

My main concern is how do i lengthen my GPU life to 5-7 years, any tips, advice, and what to buy to improve its longevity? ex. only play games while AC is on, so that it is much cooler when playing (GPU). (please no trolling... like dont use the computer so it will last much longer.) and should i switch processor and motherboard to socket 2011? This is most likely my last GAMING PC.. i want it to last long.. what brand of motherboard to buy etc.

Thanks!:)

Well they have stopped using socket 1155 and now are on to socket 1150 (the 4XXX series). So if you already have a 3770, you will have to change your mother board if you are looking to go 2011. My best advice to keep your computer running the longest is to keep it cool, avoid over-clocking (yeah I know it's not proven to shorten the life, but stressing components can't help) and when you are not using it, turn it off. As robnof asked, is there a budget? Are you planning on building from scratch or what do you already own and plan on incorporating into your build?

I can go from scratch depending on what you recommend. So 1550 is the latest atm? Between 1550 and 2011 what socket will outlast the other one? And what is the pros and cons of 1550 and 2011? are 2011 processor much stronger? Or should I keep my current Processor and motherboard and wait for the next socket and just upgrade my video card?
I really don't know much about computers sorry

Socket LGA 1150 will suit you just fine. In many cases there is no real benefit to LGA 2011 vs an LGA 1155 or 1150 i7 when it comes to gaming.

Up until this year, I would still recommend an i5 over an i7 for gaming as well, due to most games not utilizing more than 4 threads. This has slowly changed to where in a long term investment, an i7 makes sense due to more games taking advantage of more threads.
