Hi all. maby some can answer this.. i have an asus m4a785d-m-pro with a x2 240 cpu. runs great, with newest bios update.

but i wanned to make an upgrade for a faster CPU, so i got an used 6x 1045t CPU garanteed to Work. only prob is, computer wont boot, not a sound from speaker, Black screen. and the CPU gets very hot, i have a large heatsink, and still after 2-3 min its arround 45 degrees celcius.. is the cpu i got fryed ? mobo, ram and Graphics runs perfekt with x2 240 cpu. bios requied for this cpu is 0608, i have a 1001 version..

i have tryed to remove all hardware.. no rams, and i get beeps as i should..

if i change new cpu to old x2 240, it boots up right away..

You should check what wattage the the old cpu is.
And you should check what wattage the new cpu is.

Then check what the maximum wattage of cpu the motherboard it`s self supports.

If it supports less of a wattage than the new cpu requires it is the problem.

Hi.. the mobo is 125w max THD, with a brand new corsair quality 350W psu. old cpu is max 62W THD, and new cpu is 95W THD..

should I send it to our local datacenter for testing ?

its just that it costs 30 euro to do so. and thats around the amount that i saved buy buying it used..

"CPU garanteed to Work"?....Return it before it damages your motherboard.
When POST the cpu is first thing to initialize and that cpu won't (bricked). Return it and buy new.

Phenom IIX6 1045T
(HDT45TWFK6DGR), 2.7GHz, 95W, rev.E0, SocketAM3, 6-Core
BIOS 0806

Maybe you could try resetting your CMOS ?

Otherwise, it might be a dud.

Hi.. yes " testet" & garanteed to Work 100%.. but, i can imagine, returning it to seller in Spain " im in Denmark". He will "test" it and find it working, and send it back, and i have wasted 70 euro on a fryed chip.. thats why im strongly considering, to get it checked at a qualified workshop, so i can prove without a doubt, and with documentation, that the CPU is DOA.

what a drag, all this for nothing, when finished with testing, and mailing back and forth, i could have bought a new 8 x core Cpu in Denmark... insteed of a used outdated 6x core from Spain... think I hate my self right now..
