Im planning to build a gaming pc and it is my first time to do that, also im new to this forum so be nice if my questions are so damn stupid..

So heres my specs:

Cpu: i7 3930k oc to 4.5
Gpu: gtx 780 (i will add 1 more within, let us say 5 months after my pc has finished) so its an sli configuration
Mobo: Rive
Ram: gskill ripjaws Z 16g 4x4
Psu: seasonic x 1250 gold fullmodular
Ssd: samsung 840 pro 250 gb
Hdd: WD 2tb black
Display: 1080p
i want single monitor only and the reason why i opted to have gtx 780 sli is to make my gpu last longer, i know its an overkill thing

My questions are:
1. What's the difference between the performance of i7 3930k 4.5ghz and gtx 780 2x. And the i7 4770k 4.5 ghz and gtx 780 2x

I want to push my 2 gtx 780 to the limit so im gonna OC those including my cpu with air cooling solutions, so is there any differences in performance between the 2 cpu at the same clock speed?

2. if i choose to go with i7 3930k and dual gtx 780 how long it will last?

I'm not asking about future proofing coz for me there's no such thing as future proof pc unless im only using it for MS office or simple apps, movies and music

I always play games at high res. and my laptop died last week...i bought that last 2009 with the specs of centrino2 and radeon 4330,that time for me its a monster laptop but of course technology is evolving so its a loser laptop now and i used it in skyrim with very low resolution, mass effect 3 low res again, NFS mostwanted 2 with low res also...unfortunately i wasn't able to finish skyrim, and even minecraft (believe it or not) coz my laptop is dead now, the gpu and mobo both gave up 3 times and it cannot even handle counter strike any more!

.im sick and tired of lowering my resolution so i am planning to build an extreme gaming pc with air cooling solutions...my eyes is really sensitive when it comes to fps so i want a smooth gameplay and an eye candy resolution and not head aches!

3. If i then choose i7 4770k and two gtx 780, again how long it will last?

Im not going to upgrade my cpu weather its 3930k or 4770k for 4-5 yrs, but I THINK im gonna get the gtx 800 series when it is out next yr. and gtx 900 series (if theres any?) for the next 2 years...( and im still not sure about that)

So for my last question can the 3930k or 4770k handle the gtx 800 and. Gtx 900 series both in sli? Buying them is just an option im not sure about this, but just to make sure that i can play ultra settings by just upgrading gpus im willing to buy those gtx series.

I want to play latest games like BF 3,4 crysis 1,2,3 or maybe 4, the elder scroll series, nfs series, mass effect series, sims series, theif, assassins creed series, metro 2033 series, bio shock series, diablo 3 deus x,tomb raider, border lands 2 and any other games that might be release within 4-5 yrs. all of them in HIGH RESOLUTIONS and 1080p display....

To add more i want to learn how to edit videos and music and also picture so i think i can benefit from 3930k...so 80% gaming and 20% editing.

i need a help from the experts not from the fanboys or bashers, money is not a problem and im not goin to do water cooling, i'm open to any opinions and suggestions about my extreme gaming pc, if theres a compatibility problems with my rig tell me, again money is not a problem i've been saving for this ever since i was in the university.

AND also can my psu support 2 gtx 780 and does it have a 6 and 8 pin power connectors for gpu and 8 pins for cpu (if i chose 3930k)

And yeah ive heard about 4930k and im willing to wait for it, but is it worth it to buy the expensive 4930k when there is about 10-20% increase in performance compared to 3930k, again its my first build...

So thats pretty much it, im sorry if this is a bit long, i just dont want to waste my money

Thanks in advance! Have a nice day to all.

1> the 3930k has 6 cores vs. the 4770k of 4 cores main difference and also the boards for the 3rd generation of intel can go up to 64 gigs of ram whereas 4th gen is 32 gigs. Regardless both are great chips, it all boils down on how much money you want to spend.

2 & 3 is the same question just different CPUs. You will be able to play it well for +3 years tbh. 2x 780s is more than enough power and also there are really no games that can use the full potential of 2x 780s (even quad 590s mind you).

1. But can i7 4770k handle gtx 880 sli if those were released,? How about the 3930k, its a bit old though but can it handle gtx 880 in sli,?

2. And if i OC both 3930k and 4770k to 4.5 with gtx 780 sli, which one will give me a high fps,?
