Hello, I don't know which PSU I should get between these 2:
Seasonic G-Serie 650W (€ 139,95)
Cooler Master V700 (€ 122,95)

They are both 80 Plus Gold.
Which one should I get and what's the difference?

Solution

They underrate their PSUs. It's a good way of guaranteeing a good performing PSU.
For customer service, you'll have to call or chat with the company online for RMAs and whatnot.

And for the future: Good...

From what I've seen during the I've had one of their products, they have superb customer support.
Also, most Seasonics are underrated in terms of power. This one can probably pull 700-750w easily.
The Coolermaster is based off a Seasonic design, so it's good as well, but I found their customer service to be lacking.

I thought customer support all lays down with the store you but it in? And why would it be 700-750W when it says 650W?

I have had one or two Seasonics go bad. They are not perfect.

That said, I have had well more Cooler Masters go bad.

The way I see it is that you either buy Corsair or Seasoinc. Its not a name brand thing here. With computers that does not apply like it does to clothing/jewelry etc. In PCs they have earned the name by being good products. Corsair and Seasonic have earned their spots and names by creating amazing products that rarely fail and are great bang for the buck.

Lets look at some examples. At my work we have a Corsair CX430 and a CM 500W. Here they are:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031

Same price on Egg yet ones 430W and the other is 500W. Yet here is where they differ. The Corsair is a 80 Plus Bronze meaning that at 50% load it will push out 85% of its peak power. To top it off the CM is only 70% efficient at 50% load meaning that it only provides 350W at 50% load while the Corsair pushes out 365W at 50% load.

Its just an example but never think you are paying for a name brand when it comes to PC parts. You basically get what you pay for with a PC. Buy cheap and it will be cheap and die out fast.

I would still go Seasonic. They have been a proven brand over the years and as I said before I have seen one or two go bad compared to many more CMs.
