So my uncle just bought a Windows 8 Laptop, a Toshiba Satellite C70D-A.

It comes with a AMD A4-5000 APU (Quad Core 1.5GHz) with built in Radon HD 8330 for the video. 6GB of memory and a 750 GB hard disk.

I want to install Windows 7 on this laptop but most manufacturers (including Toshiba) don't provide drivers for Windows 7 on their Windows 8 laptops.

Not only does my uncle not like the new Windows 8 (he's not a computer person), but I don't like it either, it give me a headache and makes me sick using it.
Also I want a fresh install of Windows 7 so I can partition the drive (one partition for Windows and Programs and the other for data so I can easily reinstall windows 7)

I know all about disabling secure boot and UEFI so that I can install Windows 7, but I'm going to need to know where or if I can get drivers for Windows 7 for the Toshiba Satellite C70D-A

you are missing four numbers at the end of the model#

have you checked the Toshiba website?

enter the model number on the Toshiba driver site. On the left hand side choose your windows version. This should give you a list of available drivers for your model.

There isn't any extra numbers, I checked on the bottem of the laptop, which is usually where you get the full model number, but all there is for model number is : C70D-A

Another part says PSCENC-00M007 but that doesnt seem like part of the model number. Then again I've never delt with a toshiba laptop before. This laptop also appears to be a brand new laptop as I can't find any reviews on the C70D-A laptop (typically any laptop thats been out for a bit has a couple of reviews).

Also, would windows 7 be able to get the drivers for this hardware or would I have to get the drivers my self? I know windows 7 can download drivers it self if they;re available

aside from the interface, two reasons why I want to install windows 7

ONE : I prefer to work with a clean slate, I dont like having all the extra programs and crap that Manufacturers put on the laptops when you get them. I can uninstall them all but I find theres still left overs that still slow the computer down.

TWO : I want to partition the hard disk from a clean install, currently theres a 1GB System partition, then a 20 MB empty area, then the 678 GB partition for windows and user data, and then the rest is for the recovery.

Another thing I have a disk for windows 7, but I don't have a disk for windows 8, and I could use UBUNTU and my uncle would be fine with that, but I'd prefer less hassles down the road, and Windows 8 has more hassles then windows 7

You can want to install Windows 7 all day long, but the bottom line is that the manufacturer has chosen not to write drivers for that platform, no one else is going to do it, therefore you are either stuck with Windows 8 or can install Linux as an alternative.

Oh well I installed Iorbits version of Start8 and got rid of most of the Windows 8 features (not litterally, just the activators like when you move to the bottom right of the screen and bring up the little panel). I also made it so that its almost immpossible to get into Metro now since my uncle wont need it (He mostly bought the laptop to listen to and store music as well as videos and browse the internet)

So far I don't mind things so much now with everything looking like windows 7 and feeling like windows 8

I have the exact same computer that was sold with the proprietary, horrible and user un-friendly Winows 8. I erased the garbage Windows 8 and installed Windows 7 SP1 Pro. Everything works fine - You can use the drivers found on the toshiba site - The only harder to find are USB/ETHERNET CONTROLLER/ SM BUS - On the site I entered Notebook/Satellite/C/C70D-A / PSCNE/Widows 8 64 bit / Then the driver
