Hello there! I was hoping you could help me upgrade my desktop computer for gaming. I'd love to play games like Skyrim and Bioshock with at least medium settings.
I don't know much about computers but I can tell you that I have a Gateway PC and the model is SX2855-UB10P
Here is the website for the model: http://us.gateway.com/gw/en/US/content/model/PT.GCFP2.008
I'll appreciate any help you can give me and I'll try answering any questions you ask.
Thanks

Well what can I tell you. The case would have to go you have a slimline pc which isn't going to be very helpful in adding a graphics card. You will more then likely want to change out your processor, motherboard, and graphics card you could carry over hard drives and optical. But for you I'd say to get in a good position to play the games you'd like to you'd probably pay between 600-800 dollars for decent settings in the games you listed.

something like this perhaps which is just under 500

well its a small form factor pc, so you would need a low profile video card. and a better power supply to support it. you'd then want to upgrade the celeron to an i5, which the bios may or may not support (and you'd be stuck with bad cooling as a regular intel heatsink probably doesn't fit inside). Then throw in some more memory. all in all you're looking at a price tag close to building your own entry level gaming pc, which i would recommend over an upgrade.
