I've been having issues with my cable connection and I'm not sure where else to go with it. My modem is rebooting every 30 minutes. And I don't mean around or about 30 minutes, I mean EXACTLY 30 minutes. Every 30 minutes all day everyday for the last week.

First step in troubleshooting was removing the wireless router from the mix. PC is directly connected to the modem. Still resetting. So I took the whole PC out of the picture. Still resetting with no devices connected. Next was the modem. Factory reset didn't help, so I replaced the modem and it's still resetting.

1st service call from Comcast checked the lines from in the house, and everything checked out and he couldn't find any issues (SNR UP/DOWN: 49/41dBmV) 2nd service call from Comcast checked the outside lines. He found some errors with the line. So he replaced the cable, and some connectors, and said that should take care of it.

STILL RESETTING. I'm about out of ideas. I'm hoping someone will know what the issue might be or might be related to, because Comcast has no clue. This is very annoying. Any online activity is interrupted, especially gaming. I have resorted to a 30 minute timer so I know to log off in time. Any ideas? Let me know if you need anymore info.

Check the modem manufacturer for a firmware update/patch. Also, you may want to start saving/exporting the modem log file. I had many issues with Cox cable and the modem I ordered from their website which was resetting at midnight, every night due to a firmware bug in the modem where it was supposedly comparing the polled signal strength query to some arbitrary number that could never be satisfied, resulting in a reboot.

I showed the provider 10 days worth of logs pointing out the reason myself, before they replaced the modem after several "line-check" service calls were made.

I think you may have your answer you have to be firm with these companys these days they take advantage of you. We have media com for a long time they bitch and whined it was our router so I replaced it still the same problem then they replaced our modem still the same problem lines all that good finally I went out bought our own modem and whoaaaaa would you belive the problems went away so did the 5 bucks plus a month we pay for modem went away as well long story short..... they are always going to blame the user before they take blame on them selfs stand firm and good luck .

Firmware is up to date, and the same I have been using for 6 months prior, same with the power situation. Has been plugged into a power strip, and directly into the wall with no changes. The 30 minute timeout seems too precise to be a power issue. It has to be something on Comcast's end. I was just hoping it was something simple I am overlooking.
