My friend gave me a HP G62-143cl laptop.This is 6 years newer than the one I use now.The reason he gave it to me "I broke it".
He plugged in the usb charger for a cheapo rc helicopter and said he could smell something wrong.Neither has worked since.
I first checked the laptop with battery only,with cord only,both.I could not get it to power up at all.I disassembled the laptop,thinking I would find something burnt looking on the motherboard.The usb he used is directly attached to MB.
I cannot see anything burned with my best magnifying glass.Also checked the power supply voltage which is rated 18.5v,It shows 14.5 approx.We have another p/s similar and it says 15v.
I found the exact MB on ebay for a reasonable price,but it bugs me I cannot see anything wrong.
Do you think maybe I won't see anything and It still is bad?
