My computer used to become unresponsive at random times and now when I get to my desktop, the background is black and it freezes shortly after. I built this computer in April-May time. It has worked fine all the way up until about two-three weeks ago.

Solution
This could be due to a number of reasons. I'd start with checking your RAM. Visit www.memtest.org and download the latest version of MemTest86+. If your RAM test shows errors, you should consider getting an RMA for your RAM. Next on the list is testing the PSU at the P1 connector. Click on the link in my signature for further details. If you're doing an OC, consider going back to stock to test further.
