I recently built a brand new custom PC.

Parts include:

i5-4670k
Asus Z87-A
MSI R7850 Twin Frozer III OC Edition

When i did my first benchmark with Heaven Benchmark, i achieved a score
of 740. But after a few days of installing and doing things on my new computer,
i benchmarked heaven again and got a score of 542.

Could anybody tell me what could have happened?

20? Wow. Well, if those items are running in the background while you are running a benchmark, it could affect the results. 20 items is way more than I personally would want running. I usually only allow myself 6 to 8 max. And depending on what they are, they may take lots of resources or just a few. Btw, even if that isn't the problem, you should try to eliminate as much as possible running in the background if you don't need it.

I have CCleaner and cleaned out my registry and such. As for system configuration, there are about 18 services
running when i click the "hide all Microsoft services", unless I wasn't supposed to.

Ok, I'll eliminate half of them or so and run benchmarks see how they go

EDIT: Oh, I found out the problem. When i first ran it i had tesselation disabled, thats why i had a higher
score. lawl. thanks for your help though
