Hey everyone,

First of all i know theres tonnes of posts like this and a lot of people its allocating more memory or a slow pc.

My specs are as follows:

AMD Phenom(tm) X4 965 proccesor 3.4GHz
Asus GeForce GT 630 2GB GPU
16GB 1600MHz Ram
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
2x Samsung 1TB harddrives

I've also tried recording my screen with fraps, dxtory and also camtasia all drop my frames exacly the same.

my pc will run mine-craft fine at 60 FPS until i hit record then they drop to 20 FPS.

my dad has pretty much the exact same pc except he's running a slightly faster processor than me and that pc can run at 30 FPS comfortably, without a secondary HDD.

I'm curious to know if its the processor that cant handle the load and maybe intel quad core would be much better or is it something in my setting or maybe another component?

If you need to know any other specs let me know.
Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me :D

Solution
Uhh, yeah, that's to be expected.

Minecraft and recording are both very CPU dependant. Even my system with an i5 will slow down significantly in any game when I start to record - it's a simple fact of things.
