Question about the storage space on my hard drive.

So today i upgraded to windows 7 ultimate and i decided to do a completely fresh install. It worked fine but i noticed my available hard drive space was the exact same as the old install of windows. It was mostly steam games that took up the space and those are gone from the computer so why didnt my available space go up? Any ideas?

  1. Did you format before beginning the install?
  2. I figured it out. It was the old.windows file left over that saved all the old files. Just had to delete it.

In the future i would verify that you had backed up the data before removing the old.windows file: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/can-i-delete-windowsold-file-after-installing/4c48dbe7-2830-4df8-905b-086f6cbd9159 unless of course you have already done this.
