My monitor (Samsung Syncmaster SA300 23.6" 1080p) recently stopped working, so I'm in the market for a new one.
My budget is about €400 (I'd rather not spend it all on the monitor though, so I'm also open for the €200 range monitors)
I'm debating on whether I would buy one with an IPS display, 120Hz or higher resolution (1440p/1600p).

The main usage of my pc is for gaming, but also for programming.
I currently have a GTX 570, I know it's a bit outdated, but I plan on upgrading it when the nvidia 800 series hit the shelves.

Specs:
CPU: intel core i7 3960x
CPU cooler: Corsair H80
Motherboard: Asus P9X79 pro
GPU: Zotac GTX 570 (1.25GB)
RAM: 16GB (4x4GB) Kingston HyperX @ 1600MHz
SSD: 120GB OCZ Vertex2
HDD: 2TB WD green (5400 rpm)
PSU: 650W Corsair TX650M

Hi rothingam,

I would reccomend you to get an ASUS VG248QE 24''. I'ts a very solid monitor with great performance. It works at 144Mhz, so it can run 3D easily and with high quality. It fits your budget and it is 1080p. If you are going to upgrade GPU in the future, go with this one and you will be able to max out games and play them in 3D and very smoothly (if you get a similar card to the 570). You should be able to get it for 200-250€.

Hope I helped,
