Hey guys,

As suggested in another thread.. I have started OCing my i5. I have had tons of stability issues with simple 4.5 so instead of going downwards(4.3). I followed what a guide recommended.

I used the Boost Technology. It was stock at
37
36
35
34

and I made it
45
44
43
42
41

I've had no stability issues, running prime95 for 1 hour now but neither Realtemp nor CPU-Z can read my boost. It's in full 99,7% load but the CPU still clocks at 3.7Ghz

I "cheated" and used blizzard's beta hardware detection tool which shows
CPU Type:
Intel® Core™ i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
CPU Speed:
4.42 GHz

Now two questions:
1. Is Blizzard's detection accurate?
2. Is it "safe" to run this settings? Safe as in, will I clean my CPU with a spoon after 2 weeks or will it be k?
3. Since RealTemp seems to read the clocks wrong, I don't know if I should trust it, but according to Real Temp the CPU Idles at 2-3% load with 4.2Ghz, is that "safe"?

Re-installed the BIOS and it seems to read the clocks just fine.

But question two still stands:

Thank you for your input so far.

The CPU Voltage is 1.370 and that's the temp with Prime95 yes(you can see the load at 100%) It keeps steady even after 10h+

I did test it overnight and it's stable. No crashes so far. The issue I'm having is whether or not long term(24/7) OCing with the Intel Boost is safe.

100% load doesn't mean necessarily mean that Prime95 was running, so I had to ask.

The safety of an OC is mainly dependent on voltage and temps. Your temps are good, but that voltage is a little high. Are you sure you need 1.37?

Also, your OC would be more efficient if all cores were the same. What do you use your computer for?

I managed to lower is to 1.355, 1.350 wouldn't boot. I am only in the first hour of stability testing but it looks promising.

I think this one's a winner. Only one issue I still have: Task Manager reports the CPU at 5.99Ghz. RealTemp reports it at 4.513 and CPU-Z reports it at 4.513 as well. I should mention that I took your advice and changed the boost cores to 45, 45, 45, 45 and 45.
