Hello guys and girls,

I've just completed a new build yesterday and I hit a road block. When trying to first start my system I got a message on screen that "DVI signal not found". Everything seems to work out fine (Graphic card lit up and the fans are all rolling). I have tried the monitor on another computer before that and the monitor with the same DVI cable was working fine.

Is it my PSU that doesn't give enough power?

Is my graphic card busted?

Here is the build, as far as hard drive, I have 2 SSD now showing on this list :

Gigabyte Z87X-D3H ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 3PCI-E16 3PCI-E1 HDMI CrossFireX/SLI SATA3 USB3.0 Motherboard

XFX Radeon HD 7870 Core Ed. 1000MHZ 2GB 4.8GHZ GDDR5 DVI HDMI 2XMINIDP PCI-E Video Card

ASUS VE247H 23.6IN Widescreen LED LCD Monitor 1920x1080 2ms 10M1DC HDMI DVI-D VGA

XFX 550W PRO550W Core Edition Single Rail ATX 12V 44A 24PIN ATX Power Supply 80PLUS Bronze

Zalman Z9 Plus ATX Mid Tower Case Black 3X5.25 1X3.5 5X3.5INT No PS W/ Fan Controller & Temp Display

Kingston HyperX Blu Black Series 8GB 2X4GB DDR3-1600 CL9 DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit

Intel Core i5 4670K Unlocked Quad Core 3.4GHZ Processor LGA1150 Haswell 6MB Cache Retail

Any help is of course appreciated!

ah so the card is ok, it should work perfectly fine in the 8x slot since most cards only run at pxie 2.0 8x speed anyway but yes the only way to test your 16x slot is with another card

I think my mobo is busted. Technically I have tried every component on my second computer. I made my card work out when pluggued in the PCIeX8 instead of the PCIeX16 slot. That is weird, everything is fine. I have updated all my hardware drivers but it dtill doesn't work on the PCIe16, therefore, just not to feel the pain of taking everything out and getting my mobo replaced, I will keep my card in the X8 slot... Will it make a big difference? Should I take my mobo back to the shop?

I have disable integrated graphic from BIOS. My card works ok in the PCIe 8X Slot, but still, on the PCIe 16X slots I have no luck and the message on screen will be no DVI signals. I'm wondering if this is a Graphic cards problem or my PCIe 16X slot on the mobo that is busted. Anyway to verify this beside the obvious of pluggin in another video card?
