red dots and line on screen

i have msi r4850 512mb 256bits sometime red dots or lines appear to my screen but temp of gpu is very stable. What does this mean my gpu is gone?

is this can be corrected by changing bios of gpu psu etc .It gives this problem sometime

Have you checked (if you have it) also the VRam and VRMs temps?, if you dont have it try to lower a bit the speed of the GPU core and VRam, as they sound similar to corruption due heat/overcloking of the GPU.

Think that the 4850 was quite older (and a generate a lot of heat) maybe the thermal compound is deteriorated and/or the fan dont work properly.

Only on bios and starting screen?, could be an error of the monitor with non native resolutions?

Maybe are you using a Tv as monitor?

Anyway could check if with 1024x768 or 1280x1024 resolutions you get the red dots or lines?
