Hey guys, here's my rig:

Intel i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming LGA 1155 Intel Z77 ATX mobo
EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3GB
8 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 RAM
8 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 64bit Professional
CORSAIR TX750 Enthusiast PSU
1.5 Tb Seagate Barracuda HDD

I just upgraded my mobo and gpu (old gpu burnt out RIP), and had to go through the process of reinstalling my Windows OS, and moving all my old data onto the HDDs again.

I've been experiencing some slow down while going through everyday tasks, like email and surfing the web (didn't have that problem before upgrading), not to mention i get some hiccups, like drops in framerates and crashes I haven't experienced before, while playing some hardware intensive games (i.e. Crysis Warhead benchmark, Skyrim (modded) and even BF3, etc. ).

I just wanted to know if there's something specifically hardware based that could be causnig this... you all have helped me before.

FIRST RULE OF RAM:
Well...I don't know if it's the FIRST rule but...whatever it's an important rule!
DO NOT MIX AND MATCH RAM KITS. That's in all likeliness what's causing your performance drops. Try taking out 1 kit and seeing how you fair.

hi!
First try to remove one ram kit and use only one and see if mixing ram kits is causing the issue.Though let me tell you,it may or may not cause it,as i am also using mixed kits for 3 years without any issues.
If that does not solve the problem,it could be a nvidia graphics driver issue. The recent drivers from nvidia are crap. What driver version are you using right now?

I've had no problems with it in the past. Installed the second kit (is that what it's officially called?) in February and didn't have any problems. Plus, my rig recognizes all 16 Gb, so I assumed everything is alright. Is this really that big of an issue? I'd hate to have blown $60+ on the extra RAM.

Sorry man, i'm still kind of green when it comes to the acutal use of the forums here. I'm using the most current R320 Driver and the NVidia optimization suite that came with the card.

Version: 320.49 WHQL
Release Date: 2013.07.01
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit

I've also tried the single kit (both of them) config, and found that it didn't help with basic situations, but it really seemed to slow down my pc while I was playing BF3 on Ultra settings. I'm now thinking that it may be my CPU that throttling my performance. I've got an i5 2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3Ghz processor, and I'm not sure how well suited that specific chip is for high performance gaming.

I'm am glad to say that I haven't really seen any problems while running everyday tasks since I reseated my RAM, so that may have been the issue with everyday tasks, I'm still not sure.

First of all.Sorry man, I was way too busy these last few months.
DId you get your problem fixed?
All the drivers from nvidia after their 314 drivers are having some issue or the other. So if you are still having issues, you can remove the drivers and install the 314.XX drivers.
