I bought an HPaq DC5700 (for a whopping $15) which has a P4 (Family 15 Model 6, LGA775) and I can probably get an E6300 for little or no cost. That model desktop was also available with an E6300 (which is also LGA775 btw) so I *should* be able to drop in the new CPU and have it work. My question is, *will* it work?
(And to head off any comments about "Lipstick" and "pigs", keep in mind the dollar amount in question.)
