I recently upgraded from the i5 760@4.0ghz to the FX-6300@4.7ghz and was wondering of how much of a upgrade it is and if anyone knows of any comparison benchmarks? Also if it was worth the upgrade, my pc seems to be a lot smoother when gaming.
This is about the best I know of for such a comparison. FX 6350 is the same chip as an FX 6300. They are just shipped with different multiplier setting.
Not sure about benches but if you think it feels faster and smoother then it was a good upgrade. It should be, since you replaced a four-generations-old cpu with a current-ish one.
Thanks for the fast response... It seems to be faster but I just wasn't sure if it was worth the upgrade.
If you're happier with it, it was well worth it. It should be a good upgrade though...the 6300 is a beast in many respects and ton of value for the money.
Depends what you do (what games you play)
For some the fx will be better than the i5 but for other it's the other way around.
I know that planetside 2 will work better with the i5
on the other hand, the fx would be better because it ulises more cores :

That is a good comparison there... Thanks for finding that
