Hello People :)
This is my first Post here on this forum :) So Hello Everyone! :)
Well my question is do will GTX 650 bottleneck on Athlon II X4 640
at 1366x768 Resolution??
I have now an Dual core CPU (AMD Athlon II X2 240) with Mobo (ASUS M2N68AM-SE2) so i m planing upgrading CPU to Athlon II X4 640.

Actually, due to its lack of L3 cache, I would argue that a PhII X4 or X6 is definitely worth it if that is all that can be spent. The recent AMD roundup shows that the 640 just isn't that capable of a chip anymore while the PhII can still put up a strong showing given its age.

No, but the processor is rather old. I'd advocate a complete platform upgrade (AM3+), as anything that you'd put in that socket is more or less a side-grade.

However, if you really want to, I recommend you get the Phenom II x4 955.

Its ASUS M2N68AM-SE2 , He can handle Phenom II 955 but its expensive for me so i will stay with athlon if is possible..
But GTX 650 Will not bottleneck on athlon ii x4 640 ?

Are you trying to future proof? Stop that right now; it's impossible and a waste of money.

Yeah, it will bottleneck on BF4. It will bottleneck on the minority of games that are CPU dependent. Your GPU will be the bottleneck on most games.

Yeah maybe but i saw some ppl Play Games fine on this specs :) and amd athlon II X4 640 is cheap so its good for me and i dont need better too much just to play games on med-low or high :) I just asked if it will Bottleneck :)

Woops, I thought he had a x3 not a x2... In that case yes the upgrade is worth it. And if you can, grab the phenom. It won't make a tremendous difference over the athlon but it will help for sure.

Again, my bad thought it was a x3.
