Hey all,

I'm building a new computer at the end of September and I was after some advice.

I'll be building an entire new system, with the exception of peripherals and a HDD.

It'll be used for both gaming and music production.

I'm considering getting a motherboard with a Z87 chipset; for overclocking purposes, and a ALC 1150 for audio quality purposes. I'm open to other motherboards though, even AMD ones.

I was thinking $1500 as a maximum price, but the lower the better. Basically I want the best value for money, but at least be able to run most current/future games on pretty high settings. If I was going to spend 1500 on a system it'd have to be worth it.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I'm Australian, but fortunately prices are very similar.

So what builds would you recommend?

Solution
For music production, wouldn't you need separate sound card, instead of using integrated? Just a thought
So here's intel build

Gives you an i7 and 16GB of RAM for audio production and then it also leaves you $400 for the audio card you need and whatever keyboard, mouse, and monitor you want.
