Just a quick question. Would I need a SP fan, or AF fan to use on the CM Hyper 212 EVO? I would be replacing the stock one.

I think I need SP ones, but just want to be sure.

Thanks!

SP is the actual answer, Corsair recommends them for any scenario where there is something in the way upto 3" behind a fan. The AF series are designed for being used as intake fans and such.

But really, the whole pressure thing is a bit overblown, in the real world it wont matter that much.
SP, creates enough pressure to push through the fins rather than just spin uselessly and have the air piss out everywhere. SP120's are expensive as hell, but they look nice and are surprisingly quiet, don't have any motor noise like the crap grey ones they include with their water coolers.

Also worth mentioning I don't think you'll get much out of a fan swap, if you are after better temps just move to a NH D14 or something.

Always use AF fans for heatsinks. SP fans are best suited for radiators that have much higher airflow impedance.
