I recently bought an i7 4770k and was excited to overclock it. I hooked up my NZXT Kraken X60 to it and started to overclock. I bumped up my voltage and ran a stress test to see if it was at a stable temp. Then I bumped up my Core Clock. I was sad to see that the max i could overclock my 4770k to was 3.8 ghz. I tried everything! any tips to overclock it any further. I am very dissapointed, esspecially because I have a Kraken!

I have the same board dude and having similar problems. make sure you have the latest version of bios its ver. 1.3 i believe. ver. 1.2 has a ton of overclocking issues and make overclocking impossible for stabilty. im still trying to figure my problem with my overclocks...im going to reformat and flash ver. 1.3 into my bios because i read using the msi updating tool can be bad. also if you do get the same overclock with updated bios, get a new cpu because the i7 4770k stock turbo boost goes to 3.9
