I have
i5 3570k cpu
MSI Mpower MOBO
Ultra lsp 750 watt PSU
Seagate Barracuda 500gb drive
Asus wifi card
8gb of Kingston Hyper X blu ram (single stick atm)
I am by no means a heavy gamer but this is an ongoing build I have been working on for 4 months or so. I got off and shut down the pc. About 20 mins later I go, and tun it back on. It ran for about 3 secs then shut off. then it started up again and ran for 3 secs and shut off. It did that 3 times before I flicked the switch on the PSU while it was in the off stage. I went back an hour later and powered it on and it started up fin but there was no signal going to the monitor. So i booted to the bios still couldn't see anything so I shut it off changed to the second bios for s@#$ and giggles and i boot straight to windows no questions asked I could see what it was doing just like any other day. The next day i turned it on and it booted but with no video. sound was on so i know it booted to windows. tried switching bios again nothing. tested the monitor it's fine. first thought was that the mobo was gone. but why would it still boot to windows. that ruled out the cpu. tried moving Ram nothing used my dads gpu and i got a picture and it booted to windows looked on the bios and made sure onboard graphics was enabled it was so i tried it again nothing. i have come to the con conclusion that the mobo hdmi port is bad. if so i can send it in and get a replacement board. what could cause this to happen. The PSU? i read that u should never buys one that doesn't say 80+ bronze or better. it said 80+ efficiency but if it went bad wouldn't cause the whole pc to not work. i would love to know so i acn get a good PSU if that is what caused this problem.
