What is The Difference Between G Skill Sniper and Trident X?

I was researching RAM and I looked at the specs, they're similar but they're in different series. What's the difference between G Skill Sniper and Trident X series?

Snipers are a long running DRAM model, the Tridents are the newest line of DRAM released by GSkill, it's aimed primarily at the Z87 and Haswell though was released in it's early versions for IB....If going Haswell would suggest the Tridents, if Ivy Bridge or earlier or going to AMD then the Snipers are my first choice
