So my monitor resolution is 1280x1024 which is not widescreen and i game at that resolution. I use fraps to record that gameplay and it of course records the videos to that resolution, which is not good for youtube because then it puts ugly black bars on the sides. So, i want to find out how i can render my videos at 1280x1024 to the next best widescreen resolution with Adobe Premier Pro CC (CS7) or any other software that could make it easier or that you recomend. So how can i do that? And what would be that next best widescreen resolution? My goal is to get those 1280x1024 size videos and get them to become widescreen so that bars on the sides will not show up on youtube, without losing much if any video quality. Ive already tried it on Premiere Pro by using DV-NTSC Widescreen, and it would just stretch out the video and cut out a good portion of the video frame. I definitely do not want it to stretch out or to get part of the video frame cropped out, i would rather keep the bars on the sides if i had to stretch out the video. Every quality video on YT fills up the whole YT player, and im sure they all dont have widescreen monitors, so how do they do it? More importantly, how can i do it? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I was looking around on Tom's and i actually have the same problem as this guy, if it makes my problem more clear. CLICK HERE to link over

UPDATE: after a bit of research i found that i am actually trying to get my 5:4 ratio videos to 16:9 ratio. My screen resolution is 1280x1024 which is a 5:4 ratio and the widescreen Youtube video player is at a 16:9 ratio, so if i get the videos to a 16:9 resolution somehow (even with letterboxing-bars on top and bottom) it will fit perfectly to Youtube unless i have to use letterboxing which i am okay with as long as the video is not distortred. If worse comes to worse, i will just have to play and record in a 16:9 resolution or buy a 16:9 monitor and i would probably be getting the ASUS VS228H-P 22-Inch Full-HD 5ms LED-Lit LCD Monitor (linked).

Solution
For existing recordings, either you have black bars or you crop it. For later videos, set the game to a widescreen res, (1280x720 which happens to be 720p) and then your vids are now widescreen.
